Call for projects RESEARCH (Workshops/Amorce) 2025

Mission

As part of its expansion, the Institut Créativité et Innovations d'Aix-Marseille (InCIAM) is launching a call for projects for 2025. The institute will support two types of action:

1/ Workshops to help set up national or international multi-disciplinary research networks in the field of creativity and/or innovation, with a view to responding to national/international calls for projects. They will offer organizing teams the possibility of inviting five to six external teacher-researchers/researchers, for a period of two to three days. Teacher-researchers/researchers from InCIAM laboratories will also be able to travel to France or abroad (if authorized), for the same purpose. The proposed workshops will be reserved for a limited number of participants, with the primary aim of encouraging the emergence of new scientific proposals and collaborations, and developing a research project with the contribution of invited participants.

2/ Research projects described as "start-ups". As in the case of workshops, funding for these projects is intended to encourage the emergence of new scientific proposals and collaborations,
interdisciplinary research proposals and collaborations related to creativity and/or innovation, with a view to developing larger-scale research projects. The Institute's support may be used as co-financing for new projects with no previous funding. Seed" research projects can also aim to foster links between research and training in creativity and/or innovation.
In both cases, projects must be collaborative and involve at least two InCIAM units. The call is open to teacher-researchers, researchers, post-docs and PhD students who are members of InCIAM.
Project leaders' laboratories must be affiliated to InCIAM, and project leaders and participants must be individual members of InCIAM. Projects must involve at least two InCIAM units, and collaborations with teams from outside InCIAM or AMU are possible.
The activities carried out within this framework must contribute to the objectives pursued by the Institute, and their results (publications, communications, chapters and books, project submissions, etc.) must explicitly mention the support of InCIAM and AMIDEX (the precise wording will be sent to the awardees). A report on the workshops and research projects will be submitted to the InCIAM office at the end of the project.

This call is for workshops to be held between March 2025 and December 2025. For Research projects, activities should be able to start as early as March 2025.

For workshops, funding can be used to cover travel, accommodation and catering costs for workshop members, up to a maximum of 5,000 euros, taking into account eligible expenses (Appendix D).
For "starter" projects, the funding granted will be used to cover various costs linked to the implementation of the planned Research, up to a limit of 5000 euros and taking into account eligible expenses.
The deadline for responding to this call for projects is 15/02/2025.

Evaluation criteria

Submissions will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

1. Clarity of project presentation and feasibility ;
2. Scientific interest, links and innovative character in relation to the themes of the InCIAM and the Research units involved in the project and, where appropriate, training activities within the InCIAM;
3. Internationalization
4. Interdisciplinarity
5. Link with the socio-economic and cultural world
6. Expected spin-offs, including in the field of training or development and contributions to the CreaLab (e.g.: setting up collaboration with a non-academic partner) and the socio-economic world;
7. Estimated budget (adequacy and justification).
