Interdisciplinary exchanges between InCIAM, Ampiric and the CIVIS team on research into dance and inclusive education

Visite à Sapienza (Rome)

As part of an academic visit to Sapienza University of Rome from May 5 to 9, our Ampiric doctoral student, Samantha Costa — also a member of InCIAM — met with the CIVIS team, represented by Emiliane Rubat du Mérac.

This visit provided the opportunity for rich and interdisciplinary discussions with various partners, including dancers, actors, researchers, and doctoral students. The focus was on Samantha Costa’s PhD research, which explores the interrelations between respect for others, bodily awareness, and empathy among students in REP+ schools, through an innovative dance-based approach in physical education. Samantha's thesis is supervised by Olivier Vors (ISM) and co-directed by Sandrine Eschenauer (LPL), Deputy Director of InCIAM.

We have also forged links with the pilot phase of the ARISE study, led by Sandrine Eschenauer and co-supervised by Raphaële Tsao (Psyclé), funded by InCIAM. This study focuses on the effects of a performative theatrical approach on adaptive behavior and the development of language skills in students with neurodevelopmental disorders enrolled in ULIS classes.

Many thanks to the whole team at La Sapienza for their warm welcome and rich exchanges. Promising collaborations are emerging!
